This column won't be as technical as I'd like, but it has been three months since the last column and I wanted to at least get a few photos in to keep everyone up to date. When we last left you we were racing the Camaro at the FM points meet at Indy.

In Photo 6A we see driver Tony Goodman at the FM points meet at Martin US 131 Dragway in Martin Michigan. Martin happens to be our home track and Tony did a great job there. They started with 90 stockers and Tony got down to the final 12 (4 rounds) before the big red bulb went on.

In photo 6B we see the roll top cover that we ordered for Tony Goodman's tow vehicle. I saw this in a magazine and it was cool. So I went to the website, www.paceedwards.com . Pace Edwards is the company that makes these and they have a great website. This pickup bed cover is an economical, retractable hard tonneau cover that glides along the mounted side rails and can be rolled open for hauling or locked for securing all you race parts, generator, fuel jugs, etc. It is weather proof and very well made. It took Tony a leisurely 2 hours to install. Since then, many other people have inquired about the cover and we have directed everyone to the website.

Photo 6C shows the cover in the locked or closed position. When opened it rolls in to a small area right behind the cab. This is a neat item for all brands of pickup trucks. If you want to call them, they can be reached at 360-736-9991.

Photo 6 D shows our four new Trick Tanks. With 4 cars racing just about every weekend, we ordered four of these light weight air tanks. They come in many sizes, you can get them, plain aluminum, polished aluminum or anodized aluminum. These tanks are made right here in the good old United States. They use only high quality parts and they can be reached at 1-800-840-TANK. Bob Gilbertson is the owner of Trick Tank and we all watched him win his first NHRA Funny Car race this season in his TRICK TANK backed funny car.

Photo 6E shows the complete set of brake lines for our 69 Camaro. Of course we picked them out of our huge Classic Industries catalog. They sell either the original material set or the stainless steel set. We choose the stainless steel set. They are all pre-fitted for easy installation. Each line is machine double flared for a safe, no leak fit. All lines are clearly labeled for you and they fit like a glove.

Photo 6F shows Tony leaving the line at the IHRA Northern Nationals at Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Michigan. Tony qualified well, but when it came to eliminations, they ran the jet cars right before the "stockers" and for some mysterious reason, 3/4's of the stockers in the left lane had a big red light. So Tony's weekend ended early. It rained anyway and everyone had to come back two weeks later.

Photo 6 G shows the IHRA tech man checking our PHILIPS 66 race fuel. We passed with flying colors.

Photo 6 H shows our new addition to our race team, Mike Borr of Holland, Michigan. Mike has been a crew member of a comp eliminator team for many years and a Pro motorcycle team also. Mike has made all four drivers lives much easier with his on and off the track help. Mike owns and operates Express Muffler in Holland and does a lot of custom work. Mike is seen here finishing up all new brakes for the Camaro. The brakes are set up with absolutely no drag.
